Come journey with us, from disciples to apostles

St. Ignatius has a number of groups and commissions that effectively tend to the mission and ministry of the parish. All these ministries depend on the support of parish volunteers and we urge parishioners to join in apostalic service to the parish community. If you are interested in becoming more involved, please see the individual ministry webpages for additional information.
Volunteer Requirements
Out of concern for our most vulnerable populations including children, young people, the elderly and the disabled, all volunteers must complete the following requirements:
-
All clergy, parish staff and volunteers over the age of 18, are required to completed the training program “Protecting God’s Children for Adults”. Volunteers are required to attend this training session just once and the session is approximately 2 hours long. The training sessions are offered at various times in the year and will be posted in the bulletin.
-
All clergy, parish staff and volunteers are required to annually submit a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) form.
-
All clergy, employees, and volunteers are required to read and sign the Code of Conduct for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston. The Code contains the standards of personal and professional behavior for pastoral situations involving children, youth, and adults. Click HERE for a copy of the Code of Conduct for Volunteers.
Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Team
At St. Ignatius, we have a Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Team. The CAP Team is responsible for educating all parish clergy, employees, and volunteers in mandated reporting laws and for facilitating the VIRTUS “Protecting God’s Children” training required of all clergy, employees, and volunteers who minister directly to or have the potential for interaction with children, youth, or vulnerable parishioners. The CAP Team members have been trained by the Archdiocese and are available to provide consultation and support to anyone in the parish who may suspect, observe, or be the recipient of a disclosure of child abuse or neglect. Below is a list of our CAP Team members. Please contact Andrea Miller, Director of Faith Formation, with any questions or concerns millbav@bc.edu .
