Elsa was born and raised in Brighton and spent a good deal of time visiting friends on the BC campus. After becoming Catholic through the RCIA process during law school, and subsequently being a member of parishes in Queens, Washington D.C., and Northern Virginia, she and her young family moved back to Boston and became parishioners at St. Ignatius in 2005.
Elsa, her husband, Ray, and their family are faithful members of the Family Mass community. They volunteer through the music ministry and periodically serve as a host family for Family Mass.
Elsa currently works as an attorney and has a background in fundraising/development.
Pete and his wife Enid have been parishioners at St. Ignatius for seventeen years. They were primarily attending the 10:00 AM Family Mass prior to the pandemic and currently attend the Mass via livestream.
Pete has served on the St. Ignatius Parish Finance Council for nearly fifteen years and has been Chair of the Council for seven years. Pete and Enid were active in the Arts Based Faith Formation program for years. Enid is a past member of the Parish Pastoral Council.
Pete is President and CEO of Bay State Milling Company, a one hundred and twenty-three-year old, middle market ingredient company, serving food customers across North America. He serves as Chair of the Board of Project Bread, the leader in addressing food insecurity for hungry families in Massachusetts. Pete graduated from Dartmouth College and received his MBA from Harvard University.
Denny has been a member of St. Ignatius parish for 14 years and, pre-pandemic, regularly attended the Family Mass.
He has been a member of the Parish Pastoral Council for 7 years and served as chair for the last 5 years. He is a member of the Racial Justice Group at the parish and was a co-chair of the Transition team for the transition between Bob VerEecke S.J., and Joe Costantino S.J.
In 2018 -19, Denny made the 19th Annotation Retreat at the parish. This has provided him with background and an interest in ongoing individual and communal discernment, particularly given his training and background as an Organizational Development Consultant focused on Leadership, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Cultural Integration. For the past 35 years, he has been an independent consultant in this field.
Reenie Murphy moved to Boston from New York in 1981 and has been a member of the parish since that time. She and her husband, Jay, have three adult children. She typically attends the 10:30 AM Mass (formerly 10:00).
Reenie is currently a member of the Parish Finance Council and also served on the Parish Council for 6 years, was a part-time staff member for 8 years where she coordinated funerals, weddings, and other liturgical occasions, and was a
full-time member of the parish staff for 3 years as Administrative Assistant and later as Accounts and
Human Resource Manager.
Reenie is a graduate of Canisius College. She is currently the Director of Annual Giving at St. Sebastian’s School in Needham, MA.
Rita has been a Member of St Ignatius for seven years and regularly attends the 12:30PM (formerly 12:00 PM)
Mass in Spanish.
Currently a member of the Parish Pastoral Council and the Liturgy Commission, she is also Chair of the Immigration Committee of the Faith, Justice and Reconciliation Commission.
Rita leads two Ignatian prayer groups and supports the Faith Formation program in Spanish for the parish. She also functions as the Informal liaison between the St. Ignatius Hispanic community and the staff and
leadership of the parish.
Rita holds a Ph.D. in Economics. She is a former Professor of International Finance and Board member of several
publicly-traded corporate Boards. Rita also has been trained in Ignatian Spirituality and currently serves as a spiritual director.
