Youth Book Club

As a supplement to our traditional faith formation offerings, St. Ignatius offers the Youth Book Club, a unique monthly gathering for middle school and high school students to build community, ask questions about their faith, and reflect on social justice issues through carefully researched, age-appropriate literature. To foster dialogue between students, discussions are led by high school student leaders.

Framed by the Catholic Social Justice teachings, we read four books spread out over the course of the year and watch one movie. Each session explores a different teaching through a book or movie that students select from a list that they shape during our first session. Book Club also includes an opportunity for community service.

We start each session with pizza, cookies and socializing. Starting in October, meetings take place the first Friday of every month, from 6:30 to 7:30pm in the Lower Level of the Parish Office. Please note that this offering is not a substitute for traditional faith formation, but a wonderful supplement and a lot of fun!
